Start spreading the news...

Maybe this idea of mine...seeing the Nats in a World Series by 2013...ain't so far-fetched after all.
Forever the Face of the Franchise
Anyway, time to GET MY RED ON!!

Strasmas 2.0 begins now

Sharing is caring...which is why this link from Nats Insider appears here.
Strasburg to start March 4 vs. Astros
At any rate, the Stephen Strasburg "Legion of Doom and Destruction Tour" starts in earnest next week in Viera.
You've been properly warned, MLB Nation...LMAO

The unthinkable?

Let me state for the record that it's my view the deadline for Ryan Zimmerman's contract extension...is Opening Day. NOT this Saturday.
Having said that...
Here is my message to the Lerners and Mike Rizzo: GET THIS FUCKER DONE, NOW!! Just the thought of trading Zim makes me want to puke.
WHY that is being floated is a mystery to me (not to mention Nats fans altogether). There's no way in hell I picture Zim wearing a Mets uniform...just as Mets fans can't fathom David Wright wearing a curly "W" cap.
(Am I right, Mike?)
And you all thought the Albert Pujols situation last year was a fluke...or Prince Fielder, for that matter. We're about to live it here in Nats Town, so please don't laugh at us.
Now if you'll all excuse me, I need to throw up...

Find a place...

As long as Anthony Rendon understands he AIN'T replacing Ryan Zimmerman any time soon...I'm cool with him finding some other position to break in once he gets to Washington full-time.
Rendon will work out across infield
Just not 3B...for the time being.

STAY focused, Bryce! We're counting on you!

In the meantime, follow the link and read...
RT @Nationals Harper focused on breaking camp with #Nationals ... http://t.co/0BRYzzRU
Personally, I'm hoping Bryce makes it to the big club by the time I see the Nats at Fenway Park on June 8th.

Hey, Strasburg's ready...lol

As long as he gets the job done this year, who gives a rat's ass how many innings Strasmas puts up?
I just love how the "experts" now start calling the Nats contenders. Really? Where were you bastards LAST year?
At any rate, let spring training commence!!

One less worry as spring training begins

Well, I don't have Mike Cameron to rip into as the Nats roll into Viera.
Rather than be the brunt of many an insult that would be hurled at him--for taking up (possibly) Bryce Harper's roster spot--Mike Cameron did the honorable thing and announced his retirement today.
Mind you, this doesn't take away from his career achievements. Just that I (and other Nats fans) wondered why he felt coming to the Nats would re-energize his career.
Any way you look at it, he still deserves some respect for his career.
And I'll leave it at that...

This speaks for itself

No comments from me.
Just my friend Mike's heartfelt statement on Gary Carter's passing.
N.Y. Mets ~ Gary Carter; The Kid
Pass this blog entry around, folks. Okay?

It's a short one

However one chooses to remember Gary Carter--whether as an Expo or a Met--no one ever questioned his heart nor his love of the game.
R.I.P, dude.
That's all I needed to say. Somehow spring training doesn't seem important right now...

Just DO it, already!!

To this story (from Nats Insider), I add this piece of advice from yours truly:
GET THIS DAMN DEAL DONE...NOW!! Thank you. I'm pretty sure Nats fans will thank you as well.
Zim needs to stay a Nat for life, dig?

Spring training beckons

Just read the article, gang.
How the Nats were assembled
Who'd a-thunk it? "Nats" and "contender", in the same sentence?
I like the sound of that...

True...or false?

RT @federalbaseball Wire Taps: Washington Nationals' Class-A Affiliate In Hagerstown, MD Considering Move To Winchester, VA. http://t.co/E4MjxvkL
I have to caution everyone--because I live an hour from Winchester--the Northern Virginia Daily (in Strasburg, VA) has reported that a deal MUST be in place from any minor league team before the Winchester City Council can sign off on a new stadium.
Research this by going here before commenting on this. Okay?

In over his head?

From RssViewer: http://us.rd.yahoo.com/sports/rss/mlb/SIG=11udf83fd/*http%3A//sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-valentine-girardi
My only question: WHY would Bobby Valentine give up a cushy gig at ESPN, for this?
Beats shit out of me. Seriously.

Oh, this is TOO rich...

Just when I thought this "Take Back Our Park" movement from Nats fans couldn't get more bizarre...this came to my attention:
"RT @JackoBeam this is actually funny satire. RT“@Bitchadelphia: BREAKING: Phillies Fans Declare War on DC http://t.co/85OxprIV” #Nationals"
Just read the link. SO fucking surreal, I had to follow this @Bitchadelphia person. Ain't Twitter wonderful? LMMFAO

What world DO politicians inhabit?

This isn't MY tweet. It's from F.P. Santangelo, the color analyst for Nats games on MASN.
"I don't pretend to no anything about politics but if @SenBobCasey is worried about who gets #nats/phils tix #countryinworseshapethanIthought" -- gonastynats (@gonastynats)
I just retweeted it to make a point. You see, there's an effort being undertaken by a group of Nats fans to drum up fan support to make the crowd at Nationals Park drown out the opposing teams' fans.
And for this, a nutjob U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania has a bug up HIS ass?
Wow...LMMFAO
Oh, by the way, that is my Twitter username (@gonastynats). So you'll know where to find me...LOL

Good for Nick!!

Even though it is the O's, it's wonderful Nick Johnson is gonna make the attempt to come back.
I still cringe when I visualize Nick snapping his leg @ Shea a few years ago. Not a good thing...
Anyway, good luck Nick!!
Nick Johnson signs with Orioles

At WHAT cost?

http://m.stltoday.com/STL/db_138171/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=0GuI4mBg
The Edwin Jackson signing, as reported in the St Louis Post-Dispatch. While I'm surprised the Nats pulled this off, I'm still not happy.
Why? Because now John Lannan is being dangled as trade bait. What's wrong with having BOTH these guys in the rotation?
I thought the idea was for the Nats to be competitive. Shipping out Lannan DOES NOT make us that!!
Christ, let's get to spring training already...
